The Mail tells us that in May 2021 (when restaurants were first allowed to serve indoors through an easing of Covid restrictions) Huw Edwards took an Instagram pal aged 27 for two-hours worth of drinks in the bar of the Langham Hotel, opposite Broadcasting House. The relationship led to lunch at the Ivy Club in January 2022, where, after an unpleasant incident in the toilets, it ended.
In May 2021, a female social media contact of Huw's first complained to the BBC about his conduct. There were clearly opportunities for jigsaw identification of serious problems earlier than we thought.
