With the two biggest parties taking up dull, bombastic sloganeering, and delivering interviews that would be more interesting with early AI chatbots, engagement is going to be low in this campaign. Nonetheless the coverage will continue. Channel 4 has announced it's going to televise six editions of the podcast The Rest Is Politics, hosted by Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart. BBC News has started an "Election 24" stuttering live stream on iPlayer, largely sustained by the UK stream of the News Channel, but with repeats filling gaps between live speeches and such.
The politicians say we have a choice. For many, the choice will be Netflix or the pub.
