Where were we ?

Apparently sooner than she thought, BBC News presenter Martine Croxall was back on air on the News Channel at 11am BST this morning.

Martine has been off air since March 2023, having failed to be appointed to a new role as Chief Presenter. She's been pretty confident in her long-term BBC future since July last year.  Now she'll have to rub along with her employers until March next year, the date set for an employment tribunal hearing of her remaining claims of age and sex discrimination in the appointment process. Four of the original five complainants, Geetha Guru-Murthy, Annita McVeigh, Kasia Madera and Martine, have now reappeared on screen; Karin Giannone is thought not to be far behind.
