American fans of the BBC are being taken from a famine to a feast, thanks to FAST. BBC Studios have struck a deal with Amazon FreeVee in the USA to host five 'channels', rotating old BBC shows, supported by ads, to be dipped in and out of (same as those fuddy-duddy old linear channels) via the Internet.
The channels are BBC Comedy, claiming to rotate 300+ hours of talk shows, sketch shows and stand-up; BBC Gameshows; BBC Sci-Fi; BBC Travel; and a channel devoted to Silent Witness/New Tricks.
(A reminder that today BBC America is showing Star Trek: Next Generation today from 0700 to 1730, interrupted by one episode of The Three Stooges. Prime time offers those classics of British cinema, Fright Night, Van Helsing, and An American Werewolf in London.)
