Radio Solent seem to be investing in weekend output, despite the cuts to come. Fred Dinenage is to host 2pm to 6pm on Saturdays across the summer. Mr Dinenage retired from hosting the local commercial regional tv news in 2021. His daughter is Caroline Dinenage, currently chair of the Culture Select Committee. Until 2022, Solent was part of the patch managed by Jason Horton, one of the masterminds of the current plans to regionalise parts of BBC local radio output.
