Spookily, not much change in listening through BBC Sounds, quarter on quarter: in the three months to the end of September, the average weekly audience was 4.3 million, across the app, website and voice activated devices, with a total of 392 million plays of all content. Both figures were exactly the same between April and June. The balance of listening between live and on-demand was also unchanged, at 65/35.
The Archers, Desert Island Discs and a version of Miss Marple from 1971 (with June Whitfield) were the top three on-demand programmes. Newscast topped the podcast chart in the UK, with the edition that brought you the highlights of Liz Truss v Local Radio. Around the world, the Global News Podcast, the Documentary podcast and Newscast formed the top three.
