Peter extended

The man leading the BBC internal review into the Corporation's handling of victims of serial harasser Alex Belfield is Peter Johnston, billed in The Guardian as "Deputy Director of Editorial Standards".

In November 2021, Mr Johnston was moved from his role as Director of Northern Ireland, to lead on implementation of the BBC-wide impartiality action plan, with a promise of a return to Belfast in the summer. But that has since been extended to January 2023, with Adam Smyth still acting as interim Director Northern Ireland.
