I try not to do much of this, but feel BBC News has under-reported the fires across the country of the past 24 hours. I'm sure I'll be put right; but Sky News rightly monstered the story yesterday with their helicopter shots north and south of the Thames near Dagenham. There was more drama in BBC TV's coverage of the French fires than they managed last night, where bulletins spent more time 'reflecting the UK' with thermometers, rather than by noting spontaneous home-destroying conflagrations from West Yorkshire down through Norfolk to Wennington, and wildfires in Nottinghamshire, Surrey, Pembrokeshire, Essex, Cornwall and more.
