Diary date

More than five years after the collapse of charity Kids Company, seven former directors, including chairman Alan Yentob, will finally face the Insolvency Service in court, starting on October 12th. The Insolvency Service wants to ban them from holding any other director posts, for three years or longer, alleging they failed in their responsibilities.

The time set aside for this hearing is an astonishing 10 weeks, but the legal fees have already been ticking up over the past year, as both sides prepare their 'bundles' of documents, running close to 100 files.

The average disqualification period is five years.

Sunetra Sastry, formerly married to Rowan Atkinson, was also a director of the charity, but volunteered for a reduced disqualification period in May 2018.  Her ban comes to an end during the upcoming court hearing, on the 17th of November.
