Seconds out

The Show Stopped this morning on Radio 4's Today Programme. A languid conversation about Dickens, with central casting contributions from A.N.Wilson and Claire Tomalin chuntered on remorselessly as 0900 approached. Then, in a conversation scripted by John Cleese and Connie Booth, Justin "Basil" Webb instructed a hapless Spanish soprano from Barcelona, to sing. Said soprano wanted to say hello and thank you for having me. The Webb teeth gritted, and then relaxed. "We'll have to have you back another time".

Pip pip, etc.
