The books come cascading out of the BBC. There'll be no problems with George Alagiah's South African thriller, The Burning Land. Managers, however, may regret giving Carrie Gracie time to write Equal, a "personal and campaigning" account of her pay struggle, to be published by Virago at the start of September. It's already on the FT's shortlist for Business Book of The Year.
