Busy place

Deepjoy. Next week, for £15, you can listen to George Alagiah talking about his novel The Burning Land with another former BBC South Africa correspondent John Simpson.

Others who've been correspondents in South Africa might have filled the role, including John Humphrys, who started the Johannesburg tv bureau in the late 70s, Fergal Keane, there from 1990 and Jeremy Vine, who was there in the late 90s. All have found time to write books. Spookily.
