On Report 3

The adjustment in some BBC talent salaries may give a clue to fees paid elsewhere. Last year, Jeremy Vine took home £440k+ from the BBC, for Radio 2 and 60 episodes of the quiz Eggheads, produced by BBC Scotland. This year he's on £290k+ for just Radio 2. (Lord knows what Channel 5 are paying him).

Lasy year Jason Mohammed was on £260k+ for a Radio Wales daily show, a 5Live weekly show, Final Score, other football, and Radio 2 Sunday. For 2018/9 he added snooker, World Cup coverage, and Commonwealth Games presentation, and soared to £355k+.  Nick Knowles, a BBC property who was on £230k+ declarable in 2017/18, disappears from the 2018/19 list.

John Humphrys has had a genuine lump taken out of his Today fee, down from £400k+ to £290k+ (neither figure includes Mastermind). Justin Webb goes the other way - up from £160k+ to £245k+.  Someone's had to face Steve Wright: he's down from £550k+ to £465k+, for the same Radio 2 portfolio.  On 5Live, Nicky Campbell is down from £410k+ to £340k+, but gets 10 extra days off.
