Congratulations to Patrick Holland, newly anointed as Editor BBC2, in succession to Kim Shillinglaw, who was the last Controller of BBC2 and minder of BBC4.
In salary terms, this restructure doesn't seem to save much money. Kim left in January on a package of £227k; Patrick arrives from Head of Documentaries at TV, already on £190k, and presumably expecting a rise.
Patrick, 47, (Newport Free Grammar School, Essex, which also gave us Jamie Oliver, Emmanuel College Cambridge, and MA Phil University of Sussex) lives in Brighton, and seems to support Liverpool. He previously collaborated with Charlotte Moore, uber Controller BBC tv, on Studs of Suburbia, for C4.
