Is wider regime change on the way at the BBC ?
The Sunday Mirror suggests Jeremy Paxman may not be long for Newsnight, quoting "insiders" who have come to a "consensus". It claims the programme is being rebranded - which seems unlikely given the money spent last month on a new studio and set.
Meanwhile radio reviewer Miranda Sawyer in The Observer says the talk of the Radio Festival was of Alan Yentob apparently rallying round acting DG Tim Davie as adviser. One presumes the Brompton biker sees himself as Porthos to Davie's D'Artagnan.
This may explain sightings of Yentob working in the DG's 'zone' at Broadcasting House - some fearfully conjectured it was a straightforward coup by the muscled and occasionally abrasive musketeer.
