Regular readers will know how delighted I am to read that BBC Alba has secured improved access to Scottish Premier League matches. For the first time, they will show live matches - three per season for the next two years - plus delayed coverage of 35 other games per season, normally shown at 5.30pm. With commentary in Gaelic, of course.
We are not privileged to know how much this has cost the licence-fee payer. In the same way we are not privileged to know BBC Alba's ratings on BARB - despite the fact that it has turned up on Sky, Freesat and Virgin Media. I wonder how many pubs will show the matches with the commentary off.
