Duw duw ! Few saw this coming - Aled Jones is to partner Lorraine Kelly on the ITV breakfast sofa. And, Lorraine tweets, "I'll still be doing my show at 8.30am".

Aled pops in en route to sign contract

The Sun says Dan Lobb is leaving. Did he know that when Aled was on Daybreak this last Wednesday ? The conversation was more than a little edgy - Dan talking about Aled's "three decades in the business" and the fact that Lobb's a year younger.

It all looks like an early morning triumph for agent Jonathan Shalit, now trading as Roar Global, who represents Lorraine, and Kate Garraway, who stays with the team. Jonathan also represents the BBC's Susanna Reid.

Aled's current portfolio, which includes shows for Radio 2, Radio 3, Radio Wales and "Escape to the Country", as well as Songs of Praise and a current "Cathedral Tour" may have to change.
