On the public stage of the eg8 digital forum yesterday, BBC DG Mark Thompson effectively played up the cleverness of the organisation in embracing and innovating via the internet. This has not gone down too well back at base, where 25% cuts in new media are still to be completed - and 20% cuts are on the horizon. Unless, of course the 20% cuts are not applied equally round Auntie, and new media get all the re-investment.
Meanwhile BBC4, in Broadcast, is the latest channel to wave a shroud over the impact of cuts - "facing a major squeeze with more repeats and less original programming". And the BBC Wales' shroud has been taken up by First Minister Carwyn Jones, who's called for meetings with Jeremy Hunt.
Come on Scotland, where's the tale of woe from Pacific Quay ?
