No obvious sign of new casualties with the end of the Journalism Directorate and the return of the News Division at the BBC. (This dispatch might have appeared in the French Revolution...)
Helen Boaden summoned her own Council of Five Hundred to W1 this evening to reveal her new top level structure, but my sources suffered a little like Ken Clark in the Budget speech. Suffice it to say, in the new world, there are no deputies (look what happened to Mark Byford) but, should Helen be unavailable for a meeting of the Executive, Peter "Danton" Horrocks will step up, while Steve Mitchell will control the sans-culottes of domestic news, and David Holdsworth will attempt to hold the countryside.
I'm afraid that's all the detail we have at the moment; no sign of a guillotine - we await tomorrow's publication of L'Ami du peuple - sorry, Ariel.
