Mark Thompson hates leakers when the document in question is his strategy review, Putting Quality First - and indeed, the Corporation did part company with a senior employee not long after it appeared in The Times.
When, however, it comes to Delivering Quality First, he's probably ok with the comprehensive leaking of a report by Deloitte which says that the BBC delivers £2 to the UK economy for every £1 of licence fee income. This appears in The Observer in some detail. I am absolutely sure it's a thorough and straightforward piece of work. I think someone should also publish how much the BBC has spent on Deloitte's services across the corporation as a whole over the past three years.
