Working holidays

There's an interesting but inevitable schedule for the hardest-working woman in showbiz this half term week.  Vanessa Feltz, anointed as Radio 2's Number 1 dep for Jeremy Vine, sits in at noon.  But the network asks Aled Jones to cover her 0500-0630 slot.  And over at Radio London, Jeni Barnett covers for Vanessa between 9 and 12.  In theory, she loses two earners to cover one.  I bet it doesn't work like that...

Richard Desmond, at Channel 5, must be less concerned than Radio 2 Controller Bob Shennan that Vanessa might be tired when she gets round to recording her daily half hour for him in the afternoons - and bashing out the odd column for the Express.
