Available in 300 million homes, but...

Ah, the ups and downs of the ratings.  The four most recent Piers Morgan shows for which there are figures have produced an average of 169k US viewers in the 25-54 year-old demographic.  In February last year, Larry King's average was 156k.

The guests for the Piers's shows were Donnie Deutsch and NeNe Leakes; Janet Jackson; some US women army veterans claiming sexual abuse in service; and Colin Firth.  For the first and last of these shows, Morgan fell into fourth place in the news networks informal league table, behind CNN's cheap and cheerful in-house rival Headline News, which carries news of missing people in that timeslot.

Is there a slight desperation in Piers signing up Larry King for an interview next week ?  How DOES he get the missing people to tune in ?
