A different Vision ?

I may be clutching at straws to back a weak conjecture here, but there's still an outside chance the outgoing Director of Vision, Jana Bennett, won't be directly replaced at the BBC.  Re-reading the ritual farewell emails, there's nothing from Mark Thompson on the lines of "we'll be advertising/looking for a successor in the New Year".   Indeed, one could read more than a hint of "let the channel controllers get on with it" in this para.

She leaves a great team behind her. In her time she's picked some brilliant executives - they are a testament to her ability to spot talent, set direction, and allow people to do their best work.

Other people now seem to have picked up hints. This leaves the door just slightly ajar for Tim Davie or A N Other to lead a new board co-ordinating output across tv, radio and online - the best way to make strategic savings in production.
