Have we lost a piece ?

There's still either a bit missing, or perhaps a missed opportunity, in the Thom(p)son Twins re-structure of the BBC.  Call it output, product, content or what you like, there's a final opportunity to crash TV, Radio and Online commissioning and production together, at least at a management level. It might stop the endless financial wrangling between them all. It's a possible answer to the Jana Bennett rumours, and the apparent spring in the stride of Tim Davie.

However, to argue against myself, the stories of Jana Bennett perhaps moving to Worldwide first surfaced in the summer, when Thommo might have been more interested in hanging on to Jay Hunt, now departed to C4 for a salary that is no longer on the BBC spreadsheet.   And on the biffing of Byford, other sources say the order might have been issued from the Great Portland Street offices of the Trust, again, way back in the summer.

1400 Update: In the latest salary disclosures, the BBC says Seetha Kumar, Controller, BBC Online, is set to leave in January 2011.  She was appointed to this new post in September 2008; her total remuneration for last year was £172,800.  Does this give more fuel to my big bang theory ?
