Gavin's a hit

The BBC are claiming good overnight ratings for their tv output yesterday, despite the NUJ strike and lack of familiar reporters and presenters.


Crisis consultant Gavin Grey and the management production team scored with 1.3m viewers at Breakfast on Friday morning, compared with 0.8m for the more expensive Chiles and Bleakley operation at ITV Daybreak.  News Channel Controller Kevin Bakhurst and his financial advisers team now ruminate on different ways to make 16% cuts and maintain audience figures.  Putting Quality First with Cheaper Presenters and Smaller Teams.  And Not Many Reporters.
