High society
The death of Bob Phillis left two gaps at the Royal Television Society - he was both President and Chair of the Board of Trustees. The replacement solution is to give the Presidency to Peter "Baz" Bazalgette, who brought the UK both Big Brother and pig-pleasuring in The Farm; and the Chair of the Board to Mike Darcey, who is chief operating officer of BSkyB, and scurge of Ofcom. His move into the big chair creates space for Caroline Thomson, COO at the BBC - so everyone gets a coconut.
