Let's have a meeting
NUJ members at the BBC World Service are trying to open up a debate about their future, planning a conference in May or June, to which they'll invite "leading figures from the broadcasting industry, and British and international cultural life". They're feeling twitchy that the next stage of Peter Horrocks' plans to "streamline and simplify" his Global Division might mean major surgery for the World Service, in both the language offerings and broadcasting in English.
