West Ham United's owners, David Gold and David Sullivan, might have to alter the financial calculations they put forward in an "expression of interest" about taking over the Olympic Stadium - but at least they got eight weeks til the online market testing closes. And in just over seven weeks, the Hammers play their last match of the season, at home to Manchester City. Last night's loss to Wolves puts WHU one place and three points above the Premiership drop zone.
Already vice-chairman Karren Brady has been looking for partners who might share the cost - UK Athletics and Newham Council are apparently on board - but will their contributions be enough if the main gate money has to be forecast on Championship terms ?
