Labour ministers are getting better and better at speaking and saying nothing. Here's new Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper talking about the World Service on 16th December.
The FCDO are way behind on agreeing funding on the World Service for 2026/7. It should have been settled in the Autumn. We should get some update tomorrow, when Tim Davie, Jonathan Munro and Fiona Crack appear in front of the Commons Public Accounts Committee. The BBC is after £200m a year; under Lammy, the FCDO was talking about flat funding.
