A governance puzzle: we're told that new BBC Group Chief Financial Officer Berangere Michel will have a seat on the main BBC Board. Previously, the finance function reported through Group Chief Operating Officer Leigh Tavaziva - is she losing her seat ? Or will her salary just be reduced to reflect this diminishment of her responsibilities ?
Under the current way of working, the Executive gets just three seats on the Board (Tim Davie/DG plus two). If Tavaziva AND Michel are to be the plus two, there's no room for a direct representative for 'News', or 'Content' - the two keystones of the business, employing the most people and spending the most money. Odd.
