Extended leave

BBC Breakfast and One O'Clock Editor Richard Frediani has “decided to extend the period of leave he was taking”, according to his manager John McAndrew, Director of BBC Live and Daily News.  He'd been to Lagos in the Algarve for a week.

The move follows a series of newspaper reports about allegations against Frediani, and the revelation that the BBC has hired someone from PwC to talk to his staff. This has been on a simmer for a while...

Deborah Turness's first ITN staff job came in 1991 in Manchester, moving to the Bureau in Washington in 1994; after spells with ITN teams  at C4 and C5, she was back in ITV News in 2002, and was Editor ITV News from 2005 to 2013. John McAndrew worked at ITN from 2017 to 2020, and again during 2022. Jonathan Munro worked at ITN for 24 years until 2014.

Richard Frediani worked at ITN in  London from 1998 to 2004, in Manchester from 2004 to 2012, and in London from 2012 to 2019.
