The BBC Press Office can get a bit frothy over figures, and may perhaps need to be sent on one of those 'Presenting Statistics' courses favoured by Sir Robbie Gibb.
The Gavin & Stacey Christmas finale was watched by 12.3m viewers according to the BARB overnight ratings - the biggest Christmas Day overnight since 2008, when Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death attracted 14.3m.
But it's the cumulative seven-day total that drove the BBC Press team a bit dithery, losing grip on sense and grammar.
"It has since added over 6 million to its total, a number that will only continue to grow when the 28-day figures are published, which is well on track to reach over 20 million.
Of the 19.3 million, 4.2 million of which are 16 – 34’s, making it the highest young audience for a scripted show since 2002."
