Two marvellously contradictory lines from Rosamund Urwin's poke-round the Huw Edwards affair in the Sunday Times.
"...new BBC chairman Samir Shah, who took over in March and was told then of Edwards’s arrest"
A board source tells Rosamund “The board met this week and has commissioned two detailed briefing papers from the executive, one on the arrest and one on the disciplining process. The chair and board are taking a very keen interest and will consider these briefings when assessing any further steps.”
Either Samir Shah got the full story in March, or should have asked for the full story, and now four months later has to ask for the full story. Ineffective chairmanship.
