It looks as though BBC Chairman Samir Shah has finally unloaded his indie production company, Juniper Communications, with a pair of Anglo-Americans, Don Taffner and Jeff Cotugno, appearing as new directors. Don and Jeff are on the executive of DLT Entertainment, with a track record in comedy.
In the 60s it distributed Thames TV programmes in the States, it remade 'Man About The House' as 'Three's Company', and moved on to produce 'As Time Goes By' and 'My Family'. It owns the Shaftesbury Theatre, and a range of talent agencies largely representing comedians. In 2023, it had fingers in 45 shows at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Ideally placed, then, to secure new contracts to produce BBC Politics London and BBC Politics South East....
