Chronicled

You have to take a slight risk in booking for a Jewish Chronicle event coming up on September 18th - no news of the venue (security ?).

The Chronicle is trying to move to a "charitable structure", but is still chaired by BBC non-exec Sir Robbie Gibb, "who led the successful rescue of the oldest Jewish newspaper in the world from liquidation and threatened closure in 2020".

The event is called "Jews and the Media". It will be chaired by Gibb-selected Jake Wallis Simons,  editor of the Jewish Chronicle, a columnist for the Telegraph and the Spectator, and the author of a number of books, including Israelophobia.

His panel is: Jonathan Levy, Managing Director and Executive Editor of Sky News UK; Michael Gove, a contributor to the Jewish Chronicle.  David Aaronovitch, presenter of BBC Radio 4's Briefing Room,  a columnist for the Jewish Chronicle.  Melanie Phillips, commentator for the Times and a columnist for the Jewish Chronicle.

The BBC is playing Richard Burgess, Director of News Content at the BBC.  Good luck, Dickie.
