Here's a new big thinker at the BBC. Rebecca Wallace, from California, has led corporate strategy and the executive office at WPP since early 2019; she's now the BBC's Director of Business Strategy. Before WPP, she worked for eight years in strategy consulting at Bain & Company across four countries, particularly in tech, media and telecoms as well as in consumer products. She also spent time in the digital and distribution strategy team at the BBC.
At WPP she had big ideas about building metaverses - "the opportunity to build a space around community and creativity, and reward positive behaviour." There's a whole WPP Client Playbook, which might well have appealed to the marketing instincts of Tim Davie.
Rebecca, working alongside Phil Kemp, Director, Content Strategy and Performance, has recently advertised for two Heads of Strategy, a Senior Strategy Manager and two Strategy Managers all on twelve month contracts.
