The BBC is dangling more carrots in front of staff considering cutting a deal and leaving. Next year it says it plans to cut 500 jobs - but that's a net figure; the process will involve closing even more posts and hiring different people.
So this year's carrot is excitingly named The Accelerated Voluntary Redundancy Scheme. If you make up your mind to go (and are accepted) within the 'voluntary redundancy window' in your department, you'll get an extra 10% (subject to a cap of £95k). If you decide to go (and are accepted) after that window, but before formal redundancies are enforced, you'll get an extra 5%.
And if you've accrued additional long service leave over the previous ten years, Auntie will pay that off - subject to the overall £150k cap.
