Generous of Anglo-Italian Marinella Soldi to join the oversight of loss-making BBC Studios, as a non-executive director of the BBC’s Commercial Board, from 1 September 2024. Alongside Chair Sir Damon Buffini, she will be the second non-executive member who sits on both the BBC Board and the Commercial Board, "bolstering the link between the ambitions of the whole BBC and its commercial subsidiaries."
(Yesterday's annual report revealed that while Sir Damon attended all meetings of the Main Board, he missed the three meetings of the Nominations and Governance sub-committee.)
Simultaneously, Marinella has posted her resignation as president of RAI, after three years in post.
