I got some of the casting right but the timings wrong. Sophie Raworth and Clive Myrie get big roles in the reporting of the 2024 General Election result - but Clive gets top spot.
The overnight show produces more archive moments - Clive will have the post-ten result forecast, the big names that fall (and there'll be plenty), and, if it's a landslide, the concession. Sophie gets from Breakfast onwards (the role that Huw Edwards had to accept for a number of elections whilst Dimbleby, D held sway overnight). If anything is close she'll have some big moments, and should introduce the car to the Palace and the Downing Street.
Clive's producers need to make him eat a few full constituency guides, coach him into sitting up straight all night, and out of the gurning that marred his most recent, rather cocky, Have I Got News For You hosting. Rehearsals will have to work out intelligent sharing with Laura Kuenssberg, and stop her playing Political Editor when Chris Mason has the gig.
