To the RTS Journalism Awards, and the Special Award goes to Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis "for his pivotal role in changing an entire genre of journalism as he continues to provide the British public with clear, actionable financial advice, as well as influencing policy and holding banking and utility industries to account."
Martin's in feisty mood, with an attack on BBC consumer journalism: "I don't want more work, I want some competition". He says the BBC has relegated Watchdog to a mere slot on The One Show, at a time when consumer journalism is more important than ever. Standing ovation.
BBC News won for Ukraine and having Kirsty Wark; CEO Deborah Turness will note her former employer ITN picked up more gongs.
