Minutes of the July meeting of the BBC Board indicates how little those charged with representing licence-fee payers are bothered about the changes to local radio:
The Board noted a strike in reaction to changes to local services was due to take place today.
Most of the meeting seems to have been taken up by a joint session with the Executive Committee on 'future strategy'. Extraordinary, then, that both Charlotte Moore and Deborah Turness weren't available and had to send deputies.
The meeting approved extending the Board tenure of Sir Nick Serota, due to leave on 2nd April 2024, for a further year. Perhaps this means they won't seek to extend another knight, Sir Robbie Gibb, due to stop poking his fingers into things in May next year....
