Rich

Congratulations to Ben-Fogle-doppelganger Richard 'Rich' Knight, who will emerge in January as BBC Studios' Director of Audio, with custody of some of the BBC's most-listened-to brands, including Desert Island Discs and In Our Time.

In a mirror of Mark Thompson's sojourn with Channel 4, Richard joins from Amazon, and their podcast unit 'Wondery'.

Prior to that he was BBC through and through, joining Today as a researcher in 2002.  Landmark productions include 'More Or Less', managing 'Law In Action', 'Profile' and 'Things That Made The Modern Economy', and podcasts like 'Tunnel 24'.

From North Devon, Rich has an old Post Office as a holiday cottage; he's also recently found time to write 'If I Ran The Country', a politics primer for children, still ranking at Number 10 in Politics & Government for Young Adults on Amazon. It's published by Wren & Rook, a Hachette imprint (Mrs Knight works in publicity for Hodder, also part of Hachette)
