The burgeoning BBC Product team, under Storm Fagan, has hired Robin 'Jack' Whyte as Director of Product and Design.
I'm not sure he needs the work; for the last eight years he's been part of the senior team at Anaplan. Anaplan is a cloud-based business planning system, developed by Michael Gould back in 2008 as a 'spreadsheet killer', starting in a converted cow barn at his home in York. In 2014, challenging the likes of Oracle, IBM and SAP, he moved into a 19th converted warehouse on the banks of the Ouse, as well as setting up offices in San Francisco. In June last year, Chicago-based private equity group Thoma Bravo moved in, buying Anaplan for $10.4 billion.
'Jack' will be based at Newcastle, just under 90 miles from York - no problem on a Rocket III bike.
