A nice wedge is on its way to the BBC's Gautam Rangarajan, Group Director, Strategy and Performance. The most recent minutes of the Board's Remuneration Committee note: "The Committee approved an exceptional pay case for the Group Director of Strategy and Performance, noting the market data and summary of performance. "
As of July last year, he was on somewhere between £210k and £215k. Outside observers may note recent (April) calls by the Commons Public Accounts Committee re BBC strategy:
The BBC has not yet started planning for a future where radio and television are only accessed through the internet, including how it will work with government and other stakeholders.
The BBC has a high-level plan in place for its £500 million of annual savings and reinvestment into digital, but it is unclear whether this will cover its new ambition to transition to an internet-only future in the 2030s
The BBC’s approach to how it will develop personalised services for audiences is not yet well developed.
In the most recent staff survey, only 24% of those who responded working in BBC Content agreed with the statement "I have confidence in decisions made by the BBC Executive Team", the same question got 21% in BBC News Content.
