Emma Hardy MP says she and her fellow Humber parliamentarians had a "robust" conversation with BBC Director General Tim Davie and wingman Jason Horton (Rhodri unavailable ?) yesterday afternoon about planned cuts to local radio. Here's the key elements of her Twitter notes:
Director General confirmed that the BBC didn’t hold a public interest assessment as they didn’t feel it met the criteria and that decisions were still being made on non-presenting staff.
There was no commitment to changing the plan today but he did say he “would go away and think about a dedicated review” and that reviews are constantly being made but made no promises to attain [sic] local programming.
A follow up meeting will be arranged in the next quarter to discuss the changes.
