Interim BBC News Channel executive editor Paul Royall was on Newswatch, explaining just how excited he was at launching the new service on Monday. An experienced journalist and technocrat, he's fallen for the marketing nonsense of there being two 'feeds' for the service. A feed is a stream of continuous output; there is simply no continuous feed of UK tv news, except for the hours of 0600-1100 weekdays, and except when someone like Paul authorises it. He says he can already foresee some days next week when he'll make that call. This is called looking ahead through the news diary.
