Just how big is 'a raft of films' these days ? Five, according to those publicising BBC Arts. They are all under the 'Arena' barrier, but these five bio-documentaries could easily have been Yentob-ed for 'imagine...', which presumably will be getting its own launch.
The Arena Films are "Little Richard: The King and Queen of Rock'n'Roll", commissioned by BBC Singers-cutting Director of Music Lorna Clarke from Minnow Films; "All the Beauty and The Bloodshed", about photographer and activist Nan Goldin, her struggle with opioids, and her campaign against the Sackler family's arts interests, because of their pharmaceutical investments - it was released last September, and shown in the UK from January; "The Mysterious Mr Lagerfield" from Glasgow-based Finestripe Productions; "Kae Tempest", following the poet, rapper, playwright and recording artist, made by Bohemia Films of Suffolk; and "Coco Chanel", from Gabriel Jagger's WhyNow Studios.
