The commercially-driven Americanisation of BBC News continues apace, inevitably eroding the usp of BBC international news coverage over the years - a largely independent world view, created by bringing British and international journalists together in London.
"The head of US digital news is a senior leadership role in BBC News, with editorial responsibility for our North American digital output, covering US and Canadian news for domestic and global audiences. Reporting to the Executive Editor for Digital News in London, you will set the daily editorial agenda and drive the expansion of the digital team in Washington DC, New York, and Toronto. You will take the lead on delivering our ambitious editorial and growth strategies, working alongside other BBC News leaders in the US and London, as well as content editors from BBC Studios, the commercial arm of the BBC. We're looking for someone who's equally comfortable editing a breaking news story as setting strategic priorities with commercial colleagues. The role is based in Washington D.C."
