Uncoupling ?

AMC Networks have announced their Q3 2022 results, without a mention of BBC America - which they co-own with BBC Studios.

Overall, net revenues are down 16%, but they report a decent increase in subscribers to their various streamed offerings, now standing at just over 11 million, up 44% on Q3 2021. In the year ahead, they lose Dr Who to the BBC's new partnership with Disney.  The international version of Britbox, driven by ITV, and better stocked than the UK offering, is in pretty direct competition with AMC's Acorn streaming service.

The main offering of BBC programmes on the US cable channel called BBC America comes at the weekends, with various versions of  BBC natural history programmes. But the schedulers can't resist finishing off the evening with film - tonight Jaws and Jaws 2. On Sunday morning, between 7am and 10am, you get three episodes of Graham Norton, then a roller coaster of films - three from the Jaws series, Grease and Pretty Woman.

Feels like a partnership about to break-up....
