One suspects that Baroness Helena Morrissey will feel at home in her new role as Board member of All Perspectives, owners of GB News.
Helena, 56, (Bishop Luffa School and Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge) has had a career as an investment manager and as a mother (nine children). She met husband Richard at Cambridge; he's been a financial journalist, an ordained Zen Buddhist priest and meditation teacher, and now a Christian stay-at-home father. In 2017, Helena joined a group called Business for Brexit, alongside GB News' major investor, Sir Paul Marshall.
She was elevated to the Lords by Boris Johnson. There, she got twitchy about the second lockdown, and in April 2021, a tweet saying the pandemic was over attracted some calls for her resignations. Helena has taken to writing for the Daily Mail about fashion, offering advice to Liz Truss about a more appropriate wardrobe.
I was speaking @GHmagazine on financial issues (!) when Anton du Beke arrived in the Green Room. I asked if he would mind posing for a photo and he replied, ‘I’d have been disappointed if you hadn’t asked.’ What a gentleman. What a fabulous pose! @bbcstrictly pic.twitter.com/nEBSFKchxe
